Results from CMS Meetings to chart the future for 2 CAMCA species

The CMS Secretariat, in cooperation with the Forestry and Wildlife Committee of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, hosted the Range State Meeting on the Implementation and Revision of the International Single Species Action Plan for the Argali and the Third Meeting of the Signatories to the Bukhara Deer MOU in September, 2024 in Almaty, with funds provided by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Government within the framework of the Central Asian Mammals and Climate Adaptation (CAMCA) project.

CAMCA particularly welcomes the inclusion of climate change considerations for both species in relation to their habitat distribution and connectivity (Conservation Measures for Argali #23.1, #1.4, and #21.9; Bukhara Deer measures to be taken Until 2032 #1.1).
